What the hail!

Ouch! That hail storm really worked us over. I'm sure things will start to perk back up in a day or two, but everything is in shambles, so pickin's may be kinda slim at the market for the next couple weeks. The good thing is that my seeder should be here on Tuesday and chicks should be here before the end of the week. That way I can get a ton more stuff planted in the next two weeks, and also have eggs before too long. Okay, the eggs will be at least 6 months, but it's just the beginning.

WHOA!!! Hail missed me over here on this side of F.R.!!! Thank Goodness!

But it sure is getting cold over night, now that the cloud cover is gone.

I'm glad I wasn't here for the hail. I probably would have freaked out about the garden. I had hired an 8 year old that lives on my street to water the garden while we were out of town and the it rained the day we left and I un-hired him since it was suppoed to be wet this week. hooray mother nature for saving me $5!!!

I got dumped on by the hail when we pulled in to Thanksgiving dinner in Tucson! Not sure if we got any in Mesa, though. Great blog! Keep on keeping us updated!

Hey Bff...
Another one of the seed catalogs I like....besides PVFS. Have plenty of organic listed in their home gardening catalog...not sure about a commercial side. Territorial Seeds is out of Oregon:

Hey BFF...
Are you guys growing beets? How big do they get?

I can never get mine to size up very well here...even the leaves stay somewhat small. Weird. Girlfriend has the same issue. Double weird.

Growing the mixed colored type from Renee's Garden Seeds..http://www.reneesgarden.com/seeds/packpg/veg/beet-jewel.htm

Hmmm...I wonder if it could be the variety? Better check up on that, too.
